One of the things I love about the French is their extreme attention to detail, it seems as if nothing is left undone! They take pride in the simplest of tasks - like wrapping chocolates, or tying a bow.
When I discovered Emporio Rulli in Larkspur, I was immediately transported to a quintessential pastry shop in France. Needless to say, I felt right at home. Since then, Rulli cookies have become my go-to tradition for holiday parties and Christmas gatherings.
Gary and Jeannie Rulli sell every cookie under the sun, and although Rulli is an Italian pastry shop, they offer a lot of french cookies, and pay close attention to detail every step of the way. I love the way they package their cookies as if they are the most valuable gift (which in a way, they are). If you ever find yourself in Larkspur, you must stop by for at least a bit of eye candy!
In addition to Rulli cookies and French Champagne, I also can't go without Wine Country Chocolates during the holiday season. The small mom-and-pop chocolate shop is in Glen Ellen; everything in the shop is handmade, and their attention to the details is incredible!
If you were able to make it to the Coppi event, chances are you had the opportunity to taste their signature truffles. The moment you bite into one of their chocolates, you know that it was handmade with the utmost care. I continue to tell people that the flavor of Wine Country Chocolates is some of the best I've ever had.
The shop is absolutely darling, so if you ever find yourself in Glen Ellen, be sure to stop in for a taste of their wonderful truffles, chocolates, and fruits & nuts.
