Just a few days left until this year’s French Flea Market and we are so excited for everyone to see it all come to life! Antique vendors from near and far will soon be making the journey to share their beautiful inventory, food and beverage vendors will be preparing all of their most delicious snacks and sips, and a few of our favorite musical performers will be warming up their instruments so we can all come together at Cornerstone Sonoma to create yet another magical French-inspired weekend!
If you want to join in on the fun, it’s not too late to purchase a discounted advance ticket, with 50% of proceeds benefitting Sonoma Valley Mentoring Alliance and Face to Face—two Sonoma-based non-profit organizations that we truly admire and support.
Sonoma Valley Mentoring Alliance
When it came to deciding on which organizations to donate our advance ticket proceeds to (there are many amazing choices here in Sonoma!) the Mentoring Alliance came quickly to mind. A organization that invests in the future of the community by fostering enduring relationships between caring adult mentors and school children in need of academic and social support, The Mentoring Alliance is consistently making a difference in the lives of so many through something as simple as genuine friendship.
Lee Morgan Brown, Executive Director of the Sonoma Valley Mentoring Alliance, says the most beneficial aspect of their mentoring program is “Connection. I think people naturally want to be in connection. Our school-based mentoring program creates a community of connection. We pair caring adults with kids in need of social and emotional support. Mentor and Mentee begin to build trust as they meet one hour a week in our Mentor Centers. This valuable time together becomes the basis of their connection and relationship. It’s a very organic process.”
I personally had a mentee, and I know first-hand how beneficial it can be for kids to have someone to listen to them and support them emotionally, socially and academically–especially when they might be lacking this at home. We’re so happy to always support the Sonoma Mentoring Alliance so that they can continue to provide children with caring mentors who will grow to become their advocate, encourager, sounding board, and friend.
Face to Face
Face to Face—a non-profit that provides essential HIV prevention and education services to combat the spread of HIV as well as practical services to those living with HIV/AIDS—is on a mission to end HIV in Sonoma County. In addition to teaching prevention practices, Face to Face empowers clients with supportive services including housing assistance, benefits counseling, information, referrals, and transportation.
We support Face to Face because of their tireless efforts to support the well-being and independence of those living with HIV/AIDS in Sonoma County—ensuring that everyone has a right to a safe place to give and receive support. Strengthening their community through outreach, education, and HIV policy advocacy on a local and national level, Face to Face makes a difference in the lives of so many–on both a daily and long-term basis.
We’re looking so forward to donating 50% of our advance ticket proceeds to these two inspiring organizations and can’t wait to see all of the good they continue to do! Be sure to grab your ticket in advance to join us in supporting them and we’ll see you this weekend!
À BIENTÔT,
