Whether you are visiting Sonoma for the wine or for the beautiful landscapes, there is so much to do and see! Making a trip to Cornerstone Sonoma is a must for locals and visitors alike! From floral workshops to wine tastings, you will love exploring Cornerstone Sonoma!
As many of you may know, Chateau Sonoma was located right off of the plaza in Sonoma, Ca. for over 15 years. We took a leap of faith and moved out to Cornerstone Sonoma a few years ago and are enjoying our more rural setting and the gardens that surround us!
Cornerstone Sonoma was started many years ago by Theresa and Chris Hougie. They took trips to France and were inspired by the International Festival of Gardens in Chaument-Sur-Loire and decided to create a similar concept here in Sonoma.
They invited landscape architects from all over the world to come design gardens for Cornerstone! We love that there are real “French” roots here and we feel right at home. There are various gardens throughout the property and the most recent addition is SUNSET Magazine's gardens that they have designed and curated for your pleasure. There are five garden locations on the property: the “cocktail garden”, flower garden, gather garden, Farmer's market garden, and the stunning greenhouse.
In addition to the gardens, there are the most interesting shops, restaurant and tasting rooms to peruse.
Artifact Design and Salvage is a wonderful place to find unusual architectural pieces and oversized stone objet d’art for your garden. Across the way is Eurasia Interiors with home décor with an Asian flair. Next door, Potter Green has something for everyone in the garden and, of course, at Chateau Sonoma we are here to export you to your beloved France!
We invite you to come on out and take a stroll through the garden, take in the fresh air and enjoy a day of inspiration from nature and all of our creative neighbors who work very hard to create an inspiring and beautiful environment for you to enjoy.
